FN BROWNING HP

INTRODUCTION

The Browning HP (Hi Power) 9mm pistol, standard RPD issue sidearm that was obtained from inside a police car by Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2, the same model is also the default handgun carried by Ada Wong, as well as a number of NPCs (Marvin, William Birkin, etc.). At first glance this may appear to be a standard Mk.III Hi Power, but it has a specific combination of features that makes it unique.

• Mk.III Features - front/rear sights, spur hammer, external extractor, extended ambidextrous safety levers)

• Grips - thumb rest grips with lanyard loop cutout

• Marking - slide marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL”, “BROWNING” and “MADE IN BELGIUM” on slide*

*The in game description described this gun as a “Browning HP, manufactured by FN, Belgium”. the majority of these were imported into the United states under the browning brand and do not bear the “FN” marQUE, even though they were all in fact, produced by fn of beligum.
